BGV 05-may-2015CERNMassimiliano Ferro-Luzzi 2reminder estimated length = 20m, by Yvon Muttoni insulation: Armaflex 48m Will cut to exact length in situ chiller manifold box UA43 RA43

BGV 05-may-2015CERNMassimiliano Ferro-Luzzi 3 Future tests Point 8: 1. check of manifold integrity (closed-loop test), check for frost and leaks 2. connect external PT100 in manifold and test 3. connect to network and test remote control 4. integrate PrestoA80 winCC control to BGV winCC 5. define approximate valve adjustements for flow equalization 6. cross check 4 visual flow-meters with Petr's flowmeter 7. test with dummy restrictions (simulating modules) on all 4 lines. 8. test interlock from gas flow do we need filters on chiller ?

BGV 05-may-2015CERNMassimiliano Ferro-Luzzi 4 Future tests: LHC tunnel Install1: (chiller & manifold) 1. transport chiller and manifold (with closed loops) from point to LHC-TNL 2. make electrical connection of chiller 3. connect TL to chiller (finalize insulation after Tests!) 4. fix manifold in tunnel floor (bolts ?), connect TL to manifold (finalize insulation after Tests!) 5. connect PT100 cable (chiller manifold) 6. connect compressed air to manifold 7. connect interlock cable (chiller airflow) 8. connect network cable for Presto A80 Test1: 1. fill chiller, circulate, refill, check coarse losses (have enough C6F14) 2. test air flow to manifold, test interlock from gas flow 3. check circulation, frost & leaks=> if success, finalize insulation 4. test external PT100 5. test remote control Install2: (manifold detectors) 1. install cooling lines and compressed air lines 2. connect cooling and compressed air lines (manifold - modules) Test2: 1. test module cooling, circulation, readjust valves for flow equalization 2. check for frost & leaks on modules=> if success, finalize insulation in red : prepare in advance in blue: mostly in RA43 in black: mostly in UA43 in red : prepare in advance in blue: mostly in RA43 in black: mostly in UA43 independent of detector modules

BGV 05-may-2015CERNMassimiliano Ferro-Luzzi 5 prepare in advance manifold: –connect the four supply lines to the 4 returns lines –PT100 installed inside, connector outside. –fixation bolts ? who ? cables from chiller to detector: –PT100 external (4-wire shielded cable, could be a cat6 network cable) –interlock from air flow (what cable ?) cable from chiller to racks: –network cable other stuff: –enough spare C6F14 (20 liters ?) –spare insulation material (tape, armaflex, etc) –velcroz strips

BGV 05-may-2015CERNMassimiliano Ferro-Luzzi 6 Who ? When ? Who: mostly Valdir and Massi, but contributions by others are welcome maybe some help from EN-CV ? When: cables should/could be prepared beforehand (short access ?) Install1 & Test1 is probably an 8h day of work Install2 & Test2 is another 8h day of work Long-term leak/frost tests would of course require more time
