You are in high school now. What do you want to do after high school?? Do you have any ideas??

Whether you think you know what you want to do or do not have any clue, finding out what your “code” is will help.

What is a “code” you ask??? A “code” is a set of 6 interest areas that work environments have been divided into. Knowing your code or interests can help you find the best career for you. Let’s take a look at the different interest areas.

Do you… Have athletic or mechanical ability, prefer to work with objects, machines, tools, plants or animals, or to be outdoors?? If so, you may be REALISTIC

Do you… Like to observe, learn, investigate, analyze, evaluate or solve problems? If this is you, you may be INVESTIGATIVE.

Do you… Have artistic, innovating or intuition abilities and like to work in unstructured situations using your imagination or creativity? You may be ARTISTIC.

Do you… Like to work with people to enlighten, inform, help, train, or cure them, or are skilled with words? You may be SOCIAL.

Do you… Like to work with people, influencing, persuading, performing, leading or managing for organizational goals or economic gain? If so, you may be ENTERPRISING.

Do you… Like to work with data, have clerical or numerical ability, carry out tasks in detail or follow through on others’ instructions? You may be CONVENTIONAL

Are you not sure?? Most people are a combination of several of these -- not just one. What is your code?? Write on a sheet of paper the first letter of the three interest areas that are most like you. List the one that is most like you first.

Your Code Those three letters make up your individual code. Click on the link below to look at different careers that would be appropriate for a person with your code. Have fun looking at all the possibilities!!!!!
