This is the first time that a standards-based integration approach is implemented to share patient record information across care delivery organizations in a multi-vendor clinical applications environment. 2. This demonstrates the momentum of the vendors in responding effectively to the HHS patient record vision. 3. Use of IHE Integration Profiles during integration testing and pilot phases of a system development lifecycle will ensure interoperability among systems and provide care delivery organizations with the solid business case for specific product selections. 4. IHE is gaining maturity by addressing multi-domains (IT Infrastructure, cardiology, laboratory, radiology, continuity of care) within and across enterprises.
