2. How to join a conversation  Walk up to the person or group of people.  Wait for the person or people talking to finish or pause.  Say “Hello” Example: How was your weekend? What did you do?

3. How to maintain a conv.  Talk about the same thing the other person is talking about. Example: If Mrs. Byrge is talking about her puppy, Sadie, Cliff needs to also talk about dogs.  Listen to what the conversation is about. Example: If 2 boys are talking about football, Cliff needs to talk about football.

4. It is o.k. to….  Change the topic after about 3 or 4 exchanges.  Ask questions  Say “excuse me” and leave the group

5. Ending conversations  Do not walk away (that is rude).  Say “it was nice talking with you”  Good bye

6. People you enjoy talking to:  Make a list of people that you like to talk to.

7. Topics you enjoy talking about:  Pets:  Animals:  Movies:  Hobbies:
