Characters The Characters in Rush for the Gold are: Susan Carol Anderson – a US swimmer and reporter who qualifies for the Olympics Stevie Thomas- a reporter and Susan Carol's friend who helps solve the mystery Elizabeth Wentworth- another swimmer on the US team and friend of Susan Carol's Svetlana Krylova- a swimmer on the Russian team who is Elizabeth's competition

3. Setting Rush for the Gold takes place at the US Olympic Swim Trails in Omaha, Nebraska and the 2012 London Olympics and in the Olympic village in London.

4. Problem Stevie and Susan Carol think that some one is trying to make sure that Elizabeth does not win the gold medal in the 200 Butterfly.
