2 Space Night! Space Night is on April 16 th ! We hope to see you all there. The second graders will be set up and ready for their performance to begin at 6:00 pm. All students should meet in their classroom at 5:45. Parents, families and friends may wait in the gym. The students have been preparing and practicing for this performance. We are looking forward to seeing many of you there!

3 Noise Level 1 This week you will begin reading about animals in preparation for our next project. Monday: Using your chrome book, log on to our classroom website and choose the Scholastic News reading for the week of April 14 th -April 18 th. Read and complete the online activities for Look Both Ways, Bears! and Too Dry For A Toad? Tuesday : COLTS Camp Wednesday: Continue reading and completing the online activities for the Scholastic News articles about bears and toads. Thursday: Begin the comprehension packet for Bears and Toads. Friday: Complete the comprehension packet. Turn in to the reading file. If you finish early, you may read the other two scholastic articles. Materials Needed Chrome book, pencil, comprehension packet I Can: Retell with facts Read with fluency and accuracy Read and comprehend informational texts. Know and use various text features to locate key facts. Project Connection: None Scholastic News - Animals

5 Noise Level 0 1.Choose a library book or a book of choice that you have not read. 2.Be sure you picked a book that you can read alone. 3.Silently read. 4.After you finish your book, write the name of the book in your Data Binder. 5.Be sure to fill in the information about your book in your binder. 6.If you can answer all the questions in your Data Binder, get your laptop and log on to AR to take your test. 7.Record your AR score in your Data Binder. Materials Needed Data binder Book of choice I Can Read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension
