What is Illuminate?
4
Using Illuminate The software is designed by teachers for teachers. Illuminate is designed to replace PCG, NOT SYNERGY The district goal is for teachers to use ILLUMINATE starting with the semester 1 final exam.
5
1.) This eliminates using the hand scanner (less time consuming). 2.) Teachers can create their own summative assessments within the system with 5+ questions (great for closure at the end of class time). 3.) Students can scan their own assessments using the teacher terminal. 4.) Not comfortable with students near your computer? No problem! 5.) You can collect the students’ bubble sheets & then scan on your own time. 6.) Immediate results! POSITIVES USING ILLUMINATE
6
1.) Promethean remotes are not useable “at this time.” District is aware & is looking into a solution. 2.) Have to use the camera on the laptop to scan using “on the fly” and/ or hover cam. 3.) There is a “potential” problem with lights in the classroom causing a “glare” with scanning. 4.) Windows in a classroom “could” also cause a glare. 5.) Can disconnect the monitor from the unit & walk around, BUT there “can” be Wi-Fi difficulties and/ or glare from the classroom lights. POTENTIAL PROBLEMS USING ILLUMINATE
