Size and Terms There are 435 members of the House. Seats are apportioned to states based on population. No term limit, but elected every two years!!

Reapportionment Redistribution of seats occurs every decennial(ten years). Reapportionment Act of 1929: – Set permanent size at 435 – States receive seats proportionately

Congressional Elections Elections are held on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November of each even- numbered year. Non-presidential year elections are called off- year elections.

House Qualifications- Formal 1. 25 years of age 2. U.S. citizen for at least seven years. 3. Must live in the state you are being elected from.
