2.  A stroke is called brain attack, because it injures the brain. A stroke attacks the brain like a heart attack attacks the heart.  A stroke occurs when a part of the brain doesn’t get blood.

3.  Ischemic stroke is the most common stroke.  This stroke happens when blood is blocked to the brain.  This will often happen when fatty deposits clogs blood or there is a blood clot.

4.  This stroke happens when a blood vessel in the brain bursts, and blood bleeds into the brain.  This stroke may cause aneurysm which is a thin or weak spot in an artery in the brain that can blow up into a balloon and burst.

5.  A mini stroke is called a TIA, it happens for a short time, it is a short type of ischemic stroke.  What happens is less blood goes to your brain then normal.  A mini stroke can last for a couple of minutes or up to a full day.  Some mini strokes can lead up to a full stroke.

6.  On my mom’s side of the family many of them died from stroke. My papa died at age sixty- six.  The heart and stroke foundation uses the money for research for a cure for stroke.
