2. Introduction Many people don’t use Browser/PowerLink functions because they feel that they are faster using Green Screen This session will show tips/features of the Browser that will make you ‘fast’ in Browser/PowerLink

3. Functions to be Reviewed Workbenches –Perform multiple inquiries simultaneously Templates –Sets default values for fields and determines which fields are displayed on the ‘add’ card Immediate Update during entry Customize Cards/Card Files –Can show only the fields required Preferences –Allows each user to customize Browser to their use

4. Workbenches By clicking on an item/order on one list, can display information in other windows for that item/order Workbenches can be saved (saves screen sizes, views, subsets, sorts, etc.) Can minimize or close all windows with a single click

5. Templates Templates allow you to: –Separate templates for add and copy –Determine the fields that are displayed on the card during an add or copy –Sets default values for fields, whether they are displayed or not –Set ‘Return here to create another’ and ‘Preview before create’ funtions

6. Immediate Update NO BATCHES!!! All functions are immediate update. –Bill of Material –Routing –MO entry –Transaction Processing –Order Completion/Close Setting to determine if maintenance history is kept for each file

7. Customize Cards/Card Files Create cards with just the fields that are necessary Use blank lines, headings and column breaks to make cards more ‘readable’ Compound cards can display, on one card: –Lists –Graphs (R7) –Fields –Overview Card Files determine which cards are shown

8. Preferences Preferences on each file determine: –Default warehouse, buyer, site, etc. –Default view, subset and sort for list –Default card file and active card –Files to broadcast –Templates to be used for add and copy –For working MRP recommendations, immediate processing of transactions
