5 Goals and Objectives  Goal #1 To help children with autism improve their swimming abilities with the Otter Swim program with Salt Lake County Adaptive Recreation during my internship for the Fall 2014 semester.  Objectives  Teach at least 3 children in the group swim lessons to swim three different strokes across the length of the pool twice before 11/23/14.  Help at least 5 children in the swim team group improve their endurance by them being able to swim for at least 5 minutes longer on 11/23/14 than they were able to on 09/06/14.  Goal #1 To help children with autism improve their swimming abilities with the Otter Swim program with Salt Lake County Adaptive Recreation during my internship for the Fall 2014 semester.  Objectives  Teach at least 3 children in the group swim lessons to swim three different strokes across the length of the pool twice before 11/23/14.  Help at least 5 children in the swim team group improve their endurance by them being able to swim for at least 5 minutes longer on 11/23/14 than they were able to on 09/06/14.

6 Goals and Objectives Continued….  Goal #2 To help the individuals with intellectual disabilities improve their physical and social well-being in the basketball program with Salt Lake County Adaptive Recreation during my internship for the Fall 2014 Semester.  Objectives  Help at least 5 participants be able to continually run at least 3 laps around the gym by 11/17/14 who could not run 3 laps around the gym as of 09/09/14.  Help 3 participants socialize with at least 5 other participants by 11/17/14 during their practices, who they did not socialize with as of 09/09/14.  Goal #2 To help the individuals with intellectual disabilities improve their physical and social well-being in the basketball program with Salt Lake County Adaptive Recreation during my internship for the Fall 2014 Semester.  Objectives  Help at least 5 participants be able to continually run at least 3 laps around the gym by 11/17/14 who could not run 3 laps around the gym as of 09/09/14.  Help 3 participants socialize with at least 5 other participants by 11/17/14 during their practices, who they did not socialize with as of 09/09/14.

21 What have I learned?  I don’t have as much patience as I thought I did…..  I have experienced a lot with “people-first”.  Anyone is capable of anything.  I have learned a lot about how Salt Lake County runs their adaptive programs.  I don’t have as much patience as I thought I did…..  I have experienced a lot with “people-first”.  Anyone is capable of anything.  I have learned a lot about how Salt Lake County runs their adaptive programs.

23 Where I go from here…..  I hope to do my large internship in a clinical treatment center for adolescents  Now that I have experience in community, I want to see how clinical works
