Goal Create a documentary highlighting the key events of your assigned decade.

Role You are part of a team of historians and archivists.

Audience This documentary will be in display in the Decades Room at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum.

Situation The new Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will include a Decades Room, and will include documentaries covering the decades beginning with the 1920s through the 1990s. Your team is to determine the highlights of one of these decades and create a documentary complete with photos and music.

Performance/Product Using Photostory create a 5 minute documentary of your assigned decade. The Decades documentary must include: –US/World events –Lifestyles –Entertainment (Art, Music, Movies, Theater) –Sports –Inventions –People

Standards for Success 1.Understand content information –Present important information –Information is accurate –Information is thorough enough to indicate understanding of topic –Level of detail is important –Graphics

Standards for Success 2.Recognizes relationships with content information –Introduction makes a generalization about the decade –Conclusion makes a statement about the significance of the decade

Standards for Success 3.Uses technology effectively –Visually appealing layout –Neat, clear, presentable –Colors are appealing –Graphics are appealing –Correct language conventions –Music selection appropriate –Narration included and clear
