Lee County, Florida is home to Fossil Expeditions, where you can find bones
and teeth of ancient mammals and sharks.
Step One: Choose your expedition!
Fossil Expedition:
Search for mammal, reptile and shark fossils
Megalodon Expedition:
Search for teeth of C. Megalodon and other sharks.

4. Florida Fossil Expedition
Before you start your expedition, choose the tool that you would like to use!
Tool #1:
Shovel and Sifter
Tool #2:
Snorkel and Water
Proof bag

5. You chose Tool #1! Now, click on the dinosaur to begin your dig!

6. Dig Results! You used a shovel and a sifter and found a fossil of a
Porcupine fish! Congratulations!

7. You chose Tool #2! Now, click on the dinosaur to begin your dig!

8. Dig Results!
Unfortunately you used your tools to snorkel and look around for underwater fossils, but didn’t seem to find any! Try again!

9. Florida Megalodon Expedition
Before you start your expedition, choose the tool that you would like to use!
Tool #1:
Sifter
Tool #2:
Shovel

10. You chose Tool #1! Now, click on the dinosaur to begin your dig!

11. Dig Results!
After sifting through the sand and water, you were able to find a tooth of the C. Megalodon! Congratulations!

12. You chose Tool #2! Now, click on the dinosaur to begin your dig!

13. Dig Results!
Congratulations! You found ancient C. Megalodon teeth embedded in stone. Unfortunately, you don’t have the tools to remove the teeth for a souvenir, but it’s a good find!

14. Location Two: Delta, Utah
Delta,Utah is home to the U-Dig Fossil site, where you can find trilobites
(marine arthropods ) or geodes on your dig!
Step One: Choose your expedition!
Trilobite Expedition:
Search for extinct marine arthropods!
Geode Expedition:
Search for interesting volcanic or sedimentary rocks!

15. Utah Trilobite Expedition
Before you start your expedition, choose the tool that you would like to use!
Tool #1:
Shovel
Tool #2:
A heavy hammer
and pick

16. You chose Tool #1! Now, click on the dinosaur to begin your dig!

17. Dig Results!
After digging through to find trilobite fossils, you realize you need a heavier shovel and better digging equipment. Try again!

After a lot of hard work and digging with your heavy hammer and pick, you were able to find a trilobite fossil! Congratulations!

20. Utah Geode Expedition
Before you start your expedition, choose the tool that you would like to use!
Tool #1:
Rock Chisel
Tool #2:
Rock Hammer

21. You chose Tool #1! Now, click on the dinosaur to begin your dig!

22. Dig Results!
After using your rock chisel to break away at the outer layers, you uncovered a geode with clear quartz crystals! A real find! Congratulations!
