Henderson School, a K – 8 public school  FAU High, a dual enrollment program  Unique Aspects  Developmental Research School  One-school school district - no district level personal  Mission  to be a demonstration site for teacher education,  to develop curricula, and  to conduct research. Administrator’s Job

3  Curriculum is developed by the teacher leaders and committees within the school.  Once developed, the curriculum is shared at various conferences and workshops. Program Planning

4  Public school funding is determined by the state legislature each year.  Legislation determines per pupil spending formula.  Legislative requirements for the inclusion of programs and/or classes. Budgeting & Finance

5  Supervision a primary job of the principal  Implementation of Marzano Evaluation Framework  Requires more observations than previous systems  Recruitment and Selection  Majority done during the summer  More pressure to fill positions at beginning of the school year and mid-year Staff Recruitment, Selection, and Supervision

8  FCAT and End of Course exams  “A” rating is the ultimate goal  PARCC and Common Core will replace FCAT in 2014  46 states have adopted Common Core Program Evaluation
