14 GENOPOM-PRO and GENHORT projects: both projects aim to improve the farming chains of tomatoes, zucchini, eggplants, bell peppers and potatoes, from the production of seeds, to farming, industrial production and sale. Thus the agro-industrial sector of Campania region will be more competitive while keeping alive its traditional cultivations. UNIVERSITY OF NAPLES FEDERICO II M2Q project: Bioitalia will be studying and performing soon the «foot printing» and the «water printing» of the organic extra virgin olive oil «Colline salernitane» P.D.O.

15 NEW PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT Today Bioitalia is proud to launch a full range of beans and tomatoes in a safer packaging, since all cans have a BPA free lining. Bioitalia is engaged in researching primary and secondary packing materials that can be recycled, with a low environmental impact, and that meet market and consumers’ needs as far as food safety is concerned. Bioitalia’s big challenge will be to substitute pp material, used as pasta primary packing, with other composite materials (e.g. PLA). ?

23 PIENNOLO CHERRY TOMATOES OF VESUVIUS P.D.O. It is a symbol of the ancient farming traditions of Vesuvius area. Bioitalia adds it to its range and thus promotes the concrete development of a unique item. It won the first prize at SANA Novelty contest 2013, as the product that received the most votes from the fair visitors.

24 ZUCCHINI SPREAD It was born from the GENHORT project carried on with the University of Naples «Federico II», and was recently selected as one of the top innovative products among 150 organic items, registered in the organic section at the latest Anuga expo in Cologne (Germany).

25 SAN MARZANO PEELED TOMATOES OF AGRO SARNESE- NOCERINO P.D.O. The Mediterranean climate, the fertile soil with its good composition, the farmers’ skill and long experience gave birth to a unique product, awarded with the P.D.O. (Protected Designation of Origin) quality scheme by the European Union in 1996.

26 EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL ‘‘Colline Salernitane’’ P.D.O. Bioitalia directly educated farmers about the problems of olive-growing, the best production practices and harvest technologies to get this excellent oil, whose olives come uniquely from Colline Salernitane, hills located in Salerno area.
