Automated Permitting (APRAS) PennDOT was one of the first automated permit systems and went live in December of 1998 Future Plans for APRAS include: –Add visual online mapping with integrated restriction information so haulers can see the physical barriers to their requested route before submitting the application. –Improve the route generation feature to create safer more efficient routes –Increase the volume of auto-issued permits –Compatibility with surrounding states for more fluid movement beyond Commonwealth borders
