Corduroy Looks For Numbers All Around Town Project #4 Mrs. HoltKK-04

24 – twenty-four We found this number at Applebee’s. They have French fries and chicken. This number tells you how much it costs to eat that.

35 – thirty-five We found this number at a store. The symbol in front of the number is a dollar sign. It means that something costs 35 dollars.

425 – four hundred twenty-five We found this number at my mommy’s job. It has a dollar sign in front of it, too. I don’t know what it was for but that is a lot of money.

50 - fifty This number was on a sign in a window of a store. The store sells phones, candy, toys, and a lot of food.

1969 - nineteen hundred sixty- nine I found this number in a window. I know that numbers can tell how much money or what your address is or what your phone number is. I don’t know what this number is for.

My Reflection I liked finding numbers with my mom. You have to know your numbers so you know how much something costs so you can buy it. I liked typing the words on the computer. I like to have fun on the computer.

Statement of Purpose I CHOSE CCSS STANDARD: CC.K.NBT.1 Work with numbers 11+ to gain foundations for place value. Understand that these numbers are composed of tens and ones. Domain: NBT: Number Operations in Base Ten: Relating numbers to our world. AND ASKED MY STUDENT(S) TO CREATIVELY DEMONSTRATE THEIR UNDERSTANDING BY creating a PowerPoint or book about their math adventures with Corduroy. TO ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTION: What numbers can Corduroy find in our world?
