7 Don Snow statements Put these active statements into the passive voice. 1.“I learned by studying textbooks using vocabulary lists and flashcards, guessing from context as I read or listened or looking them up in my trusty old dictionary. In short, I did most of my vocabulary learning on my own.” 2.Answer- Most of Snow’s vocabulary was learned by himself/on his own.

8 1.Learning vocabulary involves learning how to use it, knowing it has other meanings, its connotations, how formal it is and how frequently people use it. 2.Answer- Knowing a word means knowing how it is used, knowing what connotations it has, its formality and how frequently it is used.
