10. Clicking on an option will apply it to your work

17. Making Your Own Template

18. Find a picture, drawing, diagram … whatever you would like to use as a background… Be sure to be respectful of copyright laws…

20. Start with a totally blank presentation

21. Go to the Slide Master

23. Paste the picture and adjust the size

24. As is, this would be a horrible background. It is too busy. But there are ways around this …

25. With your mouse, right click on the picture for Format Picture

26. Under the Picture tab, open the Color box. Choose Washout.

27. The New Look

28. Right click on the picture again

29. Click on Order & Send to Back

30. Now the picture truly can serve as a backdrop for your text

31. While you have the slide master open, you can adjust fonts as previously explained

32. Before you add content, it is important to save the blank template, in case you want to use it in the future

33. You need to save templates with a.pot extension (as opposed to a.ppt which is the default)

34. Choosing.pot automatically opens the template folder Pick a memorable name & save

35. Pay attention to where it is saved so you can find it again!

36. Click on Browse

37. The file where you saved it should open by default

38. Click on your choice
