What's the movement about? The Movement is about the idea of rejecting the standards of society. Explore your self spiritually and physically Going against the Norms of society Jazz, psychedelically drugs and sex

Who's Involved Allen Ginsberg William S. Burroughs Jack Kerouac These men wrote about the beats movement and promoted the values of the movement in their literature. One novel called the Howl went to the supreme court on the count of being to controversial but actually won the case and was ruled to be fine and the author should write what he wants.

When did the movement take place 1950s-1960s which this would lead into the hippie movement The movement took place or exploded in San Francisco, CA

Why did the movement start The movement started cause the people didn’t want to be “beaten down”, which this means tired in slang. People were tired of being put down and not being able to express them selves.

What tactics did the movement use The tactics that the movement would do is literature writings promoting the movement. Underground writings and jazz groups and soloists for example Louis Armstrong. Significance of the movement The significance of the movement is that this generation helps cause the hippie movement. The movement gets people to think and people to experiment with drugs and sexuality which cause events that are happening today
