Read large quantities Understand formats Know the difference between different types of written materials Be able to tell the difference between a descriptive paper and opinion essay Be able to decode texts for class; understand the key concepts terms Be able to reread material in order to understand deeper meanings to analyze texts. Be expected to read above and beyond the minimum assigned materials and investigate a topic on their own by independent reading.

Second-language study is communicating effectively with and receive communication from speakers of another language in authentic cultural contexts. Learning another language requires the learner to understand the cultures from which the language arises and which it resides, and use the language to communicate accurately. Second-language proficiency can improve learning in other disciplines, such as English, history, and art, and expand professional, personal, and social opportunities.

The arts refer to subject as areas including art history, dance, music, theater, visual arts, and humanities. Students who come to understand themselves as instruments of communication and expression who demonstrate mastery.

What is the passage trying to tell me? - The passage is teaching us what we need to know to be prepared for our collage classes, and tells us about each of them. It also tells us to be focused, not procrastinate, and what to study and learn. What are some key facts that we need to know? - Don't wait to do stuff, procrastination will kill you. It also gives us facts about collage classes and what each one is about
