4. Linguistic Recalls part of a story. Speaks sentences of more than five words. Uses future tense. Tells longer stories. Strategy used by parents to enhance development: Help by teaching your child new words everyday.

5. Fine Motor Build a tower of 9-10 small blocks. Draw a circle by herself/himself. Start to hold a crayon or pencil with a mature grasp (like an adult). Cut across a piece of paper. Start to cut along a straight line. Strategy used by parents to enhance development: Give your child newspaper and show them how to tear it using their thumb, index, and, middle fingers.

6. Gross Motor Put shoes on correct feet. Kick a ball. Zip and unzip coats and pants. Balance on one foot. Strategy used by parents to enhance development: Teach your child to put shoes on correct feet themselves.
