Program Purpose Begin deploying devices to the field Understand the consumer experience from installation through use Determine how to deploy User Cuddly vs. mailing devices Determine the types of problems encountered and develop troubleshooting mechanisms Determine the size of HAN support team Determine readiness 2

Device Selection Devices being evaluated Tendril LS Research Comverge RainForest Possibly others as available Device requirements same as Low Income Program User Friendly Interface; Easy to operate and maintain Display current meter register reading Display current kW demand reading Allow price to be entered either directly to the device or through the SMT Portal Calculate and display current kWh usage and costs 3

Participant Selection – 500 Units 50 Employees 50 Friends/Family of Employees 200 Key Stakeholders 200 Consumers Consumers who have registered SMT accounts Consumers who respond to a mailed invitation Single family residence Same residence for the past year 4

Program Deployment Develop business processes and training for Customer Service Agents Hire and train field support team Develop Program Materials Operating Guide SMT Brochure Deploy devices to Employees and “Friendlies” Analyze results 5

How are Pilot Participant chosen? 6 Identified the first 300 potential pilot participants. We will target: 150 known Smart Meter Texas users. 1 50 General Consumers. Both groups have been filtered to only include: Must have Smart Meter Single Family Homes HW 2.0 SP5.0 Meters These filters will give the pilot the best odds for success.
