3 1. Use “if /whether” “ Are you surprised? An interviewer asked Depp. An interviewer asked Depp if he was surpised.

4 2. Put the subject before the verb “ Is Will Smith the main actor of the film Seven Pounds?” asked May. May asked if Will Smith is the main actor of the film Seven Pounds.

5 3. Leave out the auxiliary verb do “ Does your brother like watching thrillers?” asked Joe. Joe asked if my brother likes watching thrillers.

6 PRACTICE August: Jack, have you done your English homework? August asked Jack if he had done his English homework. Esther: Sunday, did you copy your homework again? Esther asked Sunday if she had copied her homework again.

7 Use a reporting verb with the wh- word “Who is the leading actor of the film?” asked Patrick. (Main actor) Patrick asked who the leading actor of the film is.
