6th 6 wks (2 wks only!!)
2
Bellringer #1 5/?/15 Refer to your 5-7 chosen soma parts. Name each part according to the assigned names given in the right diagram.
3
Soma Cube- 7 Challenge The objective is to form a specific 3D shape with 5-7 3D pieces. (27 cubes total) sketch a 3x3x3 color coded design (each cube 2cm x 2cm) draft on isometric paper- 30 degrees (as seen below) draft on orthographic paper- 90 degrees (frontal views) draft each part in Inventor assemble the parts in Inventor Create a drawing (dwg file) w/ exploded view Soma Cube- 7 Challenge Challenge Objective: Explain any difficulties in designing
4
Brainstorming Activity Rubric
P&D due 5/8 Brainstorming Activity Rubric In notebook- 30 pts date- 10 pts Brainstorm and sketch the types of arrangements for each number of cubes (i.e. 3, 4, 5, 6)- 10 pts/each Choose which 5-7 parts you will use (no 2 puzzle pieces can be the same)- 10 pts Color code each part- 10 pts 27 cubes total- 10 pts Due next class Isometric Draft HW: Lynda.com notes
5
Example Sketched Solution (isometric draft)
Neatly sketch and color code your puzzle parts show how they fit in the assembled isometric view of the cube on isometric grid paper. pull up examples from my website (#each piece) Compare and contrast: sketching vs. drafting isometric vs. orthographic views
6
Lynda.com Notes Autodesk Inventor
Challenge Objective: Take notes on how to draft in Inventor!!! Up and Running with Inventor Inventor 2014 Essential Training w/ John Helfen
7
Final Product Multiview Drawings for each part (5-7 parts)
4 views (front, top, side, isometric) label (front, top, side, isometric) color code each part (isometric) Exploded View of Soma Cube assembled view of cube exploded view (color code pieces) label and create key for parts
8
Build your Design Use any medium available to you to build your design and assemble the pieces
