2 ERDF Focus of Programme  Single Objective – to increase the prosperity of the region through supporting enterprises and individuals to develop ideas and plans which contribute to increased productivity and competitiveness  Three Priority Axes –  Innovation and Knowledge  Enterprise and Growth  Urban Enterprise

3 Priority Axis One – Innovation and Knowledge  to increase the sales and productivity of companies through increasing the rate of innovation and the economic benefits of knowledge and product and process improvements  to increase the number of high value added, innovative new start businesses

4 Priority Axis Two – Enterprise and Growth  Increase the proportion of businesses and employment in high value added new starts  Increase the quality of new starts through supporting high growth and high value added new starts  Increase the sales and productivity of businesses through the provision of high quality business support in areas including internationalisation and investment support

5 Priority Axis Three – Urban Enterprise Aim  Find new approaches to addressing the region’s most deprived neighbourhoods through enterprise creation Objective  Increase the level of enterprise/social enterprise activity in the regions most deprived neighbourhoods

6 Priority Axis Three - Strands  The creation of new/social enterprises within under-represented groups  Access to Finance  Business support services in the community  Enterprise opportunities from environmental improvements  Small scale infrastructure

7 Links with ESF Delivery Priority Axis One - Extending Employment Opportunities  The objective is to increase employment and to reduce unemployment and inactivity across the South West

8 Links with ESF Delivery Priority Axis Two – Developing a Skilled and Adaptable Workforce  Basic Skills  Level Two  Level Three (where justified)  Reducing gender segregation  Developing managers and workers in small enterprises

9 Joined Up Working on the Ground ESF Co-financers  LSC (Skills Funding Agency)  DWP – through Jobcentre Plus  National Offender Management Service
