2 Confederate General, Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson This is his picture of when he was in the Civil War.

3 His childhood Thomas Jackson was the 3 rd child of Judith Beckworth Neale. He was born on January 20, 1824. He was orphaned at the age of 7. His mother had 2 husbands.

4 Later Years He was a farmer on his uncle’s farm. He became a school teacher. In 1842, he was appointed to the United States Military Academy. He later commanded the “Stonewall Brigade”. He got his nickname from the Bull Run. He got his nickname by standing like a stone wall.

5 His sad death Jackson led his men at Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. After coming back from his battlefield, one of his own men accidentally shot him. He died from pneumonia at Guinea Station on May 10 th, 1863.
