3 Warm Up: Day One In your sketch / notebook, write “Wonderland Design” at the top of the page. Draw a horizontal line in the middle of the page. Draw a vertical line down the middle of the top box. Example:

8 Assignment For the next couple of days, we will look at quotes from Alice in Wonderland and related novels. You will become the illustrator! Use your skills to design and illustrate a scene! You may use your device to look up quotes, but you can not text or use social media. Devices must remain flat on the table!

9 Today’s Goal Choose a scene to illustrate. In your notebook, copy the quote you want to reference. Underneath, draw a few small, sloppy sketches of ideas you might use. Make a list of supplies you will need for your project.

11 Warm Up: Day 2 Write the following definitions on the bottom half of your notes page: 1. Thumbnails—In art, small practice sketches that help the artist plan out a project. 2. Illustration—Art that refers to a written work. 3. Abstract—Type of art that doesn’t try to look like anything from the real world.

12 Today’s Goal You should have a quote from Alice in Wonderland or a related work. Today, you will begin your artwork. Let me know if you need something not at your station. Try to incorporate your quote. For example—you can use it to frame your drawing. The finished product is due tomorrow.

13 Wrap Up You will not be here Friday, so our finished art is due tomorrow! Trash—Make a lap around the table and make sure it is clean! Supplies—Put away drawing tools. Papers—If anyone wants to leave their drawing here, take it up and put it on the rack.
