3. System Selection  Select a computer system that you see a need for  You are encouraged to have a real client for your system but that is not a requirement  The most important factor: Choose a system that interests you!!

4. System Criteria 1  The system must access and update databases, must generate reports and must carry out some kind of transaction processing (e.g. creation of sale, updating of inventory)  Games might not use databases; in that case they must do some kind of file manipulation

5. System Criteria 2  The system must be of a “reasonable” size as judged by the 566 instructor  The instructor can help each team increase/decrease the size of their system by suggesting adjustments to scope

10. Project Requirements  By the end of 566 you must deliver a complete system design  Note: You cannot pass this course without delivering a complete and acceptable system design as part of a team—your system must receive a passing grade.
