See SHRM’s website for offerings in your state. http://www.shrm.org/Education/educationalproducts/learning/Pages/cu_program.aspx Organize a Chapter Study Group 4

Why partner with a SHRM College/University? Partnering with a college/university can benefit your chapter in many ways: Inspires new member growth through college/university marketing campaigns that reach audiences outside your membership. Creates opportunities for professionals to use employer tuition reimbursement dollars to cover the cost of their continuing education. Improves chapter ROI by avoiding the costs associated with curriculum development, course marketing, and administration. Chapters may have an agreement with the institution where they receive revenue for promoting the university course with the chapter members. Increases chapter exposure and advances the profession locally through co- branding with the institution Provides opportunities for certified members to become adjunct faculty or visit the classroom to promote the certification. 5

Why a Cert Prep Study Group Option? Offering a PHR/SPHR exam preparation chapter study group can benefit your chapter in the following ways: Provides opportunities for PHR/SPHR certified members to lead an SHRM sponsored certification preparation course. Offers ease of implementation as all student and instructor materials are readily available (instructor materials include an Instructor resource book, Instructor version of modules, PowerPoint slides, a syllabus, etc). Creates a greater sense of community as members join together to learn and share professional experiences. 6
