3 What are Some Tools that MIST Students Use to Collaborate Online? Some tools that are commonly used are: Email Skype Google Docs Group Forum in iLearn

4 Email Things to keep in mind when using email: Check it daily and if possible, a couple times a day Try to forward your emails to one account Make sure you check your spam folder

5 Skype Advantages of using Skype: Allows you to have a voice conversation with all of your group members at once Allows you to have a video conference with group members (if your computer has a camera) Allows you to send instant messages through its chat function

6 Are You Ready to Use Skype? How to get started: Set up an account at www.skype.comwww.skype.com Add your group members as contacts Set up a time that works for all of your group members Get started on that project

7 Google Docs Advantages to using Google Docs: Your entire group can see the same document at the same time Your entire group can work on the same document at the same time No need to send the document back and forth via email

How to get started: Access Google Docs from your MYCSUMB account: http://my.csumb.edu/dashboard http://my.csumb.edu/dashboard Select New…Document and give it a title Select Share and type in the email addresses of your group members Start collaborating on that project
