Education Initiative Council Mission Statement The Education Initiative Council (EIC) will operate as: a cooperative effort to enhance the educational experience of the parents and students of the Pentecostal Church of God of Lincoln, Inc.

Education Initiative Council Mission Statement This effort will be accomplished by assessing the needs, implementing programs, seeking out resources and providing information and support for the families. The EIC will create an atmosphere of familiarity and comfort for families of primary, secondary, and post-secondary students as they transition through the educational process.

Parental Involvement! To help improve the chances of your child success in school, it is important that you become involved! You are your child’s first teacher, and it’s important that they feel that education is important to you!

Tier I Focal Points The general goal for Tier one is to help empower parents and their children with the tools and knowledge necessary to make each school year a successful one. Each session will have a specific topic covered that offers insight of its importance in helping children succeed in school, tips to help implement or use the information, and resources to help enhance the concepts discussed.

Future Session Topics Homework – This is a very important extension of the school day. Homework help students practice lessons. Future Session Topics Having Positive and Successful Parent – Teacher Conferences – It is very important to have conferences with your child’s teacher often. This can be a great opportunity for you and the teacher to share ideas and concerns to help you child in school. Future Session Topics Testing – This session will focus on how to prepare children for all forms of testing that they will encounter and the purpose of testing. No Child Left Behind (NCLB) – The focus of this session is to help bring an understand of the purpose of NCLB, how it impacts schools, and the impact on students. Nutrition and Health – This session will look at how proper nutrition and physical activities can help to improve your child’s ability with their academic performance. Parents Get Involved! Being involved in your child’s education helps them to do well in school. In addition, your involvement helps to improve the quality of education that is provided.

Tier III believes that parental involvement is the key to any child’s overall success; therefore Tier III will work closely with parents and students.
