4 Charlie Chaplin He was a famous American film director and actor, born in London in 1889. His parents separated when he was one year old, and he first appeared on the stage at the age of 5. He died in Switzerland at the age of 88.

5 Main Idea This text tells us something about Charlie Chaplin’s life and films.He wrote, directed and acted in many films which were silent.But his later films were not so popular with people as his early films.He is considered one of the greatest and funniest actor in the history of the cinema.
