7 Computers Plan “B” Contingency Suggestions: 1.Places like Kinkos, Starbucks, and Panera offer WIFI. 2.Your local library should have internet access or WIFI 3.Ask a friend or family member to use their computer 4.If you are traveling, ensure that your hotel has Internet service, or there is an Internet café nearby. 5.Invest in a thumb drive or portable HD. 6.Email copies of coursework to your email account. 7.Plan Ahead! 18 Course Late Policy From the Syllabus: Late Penalty Policy: Late projects (with extenuating circumstances) It is your responsibility to inform me (ahead of time, whenever possible) of extenuating circumstances that might prevent you from completing projects by the assigned deadline. In those situations, we will work together to come up with a mutually acceptable alternative. Prior notification does not automatically result in a waiver of the late penalties. Late projects (without extenuating circumstances) are accepted with a penalty of one letter grade per week (not to exceed a 3 letter grade penalty. For example, you submit an “A” paper 3 weeks late, you would earn a grade of a “D” ).

19 Late Policy (continue) Late Penalty Policy for Seminar Option 2 Postings: Seminar option 2 posts are due Tuesday 11:59 pm ET of their assigned unit. After the unit deadline of Tuesday, 11:59 p.m. ET, seminar option 2 posts submitted late will be subject to a late penalty of 0.5 points per week late with a maximum late penalty of 2 points. All late Seminar Option 2 work should be posted/submitted to the appropriate unit. In addition, please notify me via email when you submit late work to any unit.

20 Late Policy (continue) Late Discussion Policy: Discussion Boards are due Tuesday 11:59 pm ET of their assigned unit. After the unit deadline of Tuesday, 11:59 p.m. ET late Discussion Board responses will be penalized a deduction of one letter grade per unit with a maximum late penalty of 3 letter grades. Late posts for Units 1-5 will only be accepted for credit by the end of Unit 5, and late posts for Units 6-9 will only be accepted by the end of Unit 9. All late Discussion Board work should be posted to the appropriate unit on the Discussion Board. In addition, please notify me via email when you submit late work to any unit.

21 Grades and Feedback Grades and Feedback are updated by Sunday evening Late assignments will be graded and returned within five days after the submission date.

22 Plagiarism Plagiarism as defined in the KU Student Handbook is when a student uses another person’s words, ideas or findings without giving proper credit to that person. Plagiarism does not need to be intentional Cite your sources with APA format Paraphrase the material
