Grades of Envenomation Grade I Envenomation –Local pain at site of sting Grade II Envenomation –Tachycardia –Mild hypertension –Nausea and vomiting Grade III Envenomation (antivenom given) –Blurred vision –Hypersalivation –Trouble swallowing Cranial Nerve Dysfunction –Upper airway problems –Slurred speech –Restlessness –Jerking of extremities –Involuntary shaking Skeletal Neuromuscular Dysfunction –Moderate to severe hypertension –Cardiac dysrhythmias –Myocardial ischemia Cardiovascular Dysfunction –Pulmonary edema –Unconsciousness Grade IV Envenomation –Any combination of Cranial Nerve Dysfunction, Skeletal Neuromuscular Dysfunction, or Cardiovascular Dysfunction

Long-term Health Effects 1 week –Headache –Nausea –Lack of appetite –Physical and Mental Lethargy 2-3 weeks –Headache –Nausea 3 weeks+ –None
