Our work together this week: Today: Introductions, Evergreen, preview of our seminar text, A Mighty Long Way Tomorrow (Tuesday): –10 am: All campus Convocation in the CRC (gym) Carlotta Walls LaNier speaks (author of our text) –3 pm: We meet here to discuss our seminar text Thursday 3 pm: Our last meeting here –to share writing and discuss Academic Statements

Other required sessions * Sessions on Academic Planning (students should attend one of them on either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday) * All-campus Convocation, tomorrow at 10:00 in the CRC * Diversity at Evergreen, tomorrow from 1:00-3:00 in the CRC * Taking Care of Self and Others, Wednesday from 1:00-3:00 in the CRC

Introduction to Seminar text & author A Mighty Long Way, by Carlotta Walls LaNier Why this book? –LaNier articulates how her education connects to her history. –She models one kind of thinking that Evergreen students are expected to do: reflecting on the significance of her education and life in a broader context. We’ll hear LaNier speak tomorrow morning!
