Participants Six participants Active citizens Residents Association The participants are all active members of Top van Noord Association, which is one of our social partners. They have been presented the ideas of the project during a meeting in December. They liked the ideas of Act and have shown interest to take part in the project activities in the future. 14-15.05.2012, Rotterdam

Training agenda/programme Before the trainings the following preparations had taken place: A power point presentation on the project and the methodology was developed; A professional actor was invited to lead the trainings and do drama exercises; An invitation including the program for the trainings had been sent to the participants 14-15.05.2012, Rotterdam

Training agenda/programme Presentation of Act project, the project website, the forum on the website, the methodology and the ‘Pointers for running an effective Civic Action Information on Using Public Spaces for Expressing Civic Ideas Discussions on the topic ‘What is civic action?’ Discussion on themes for civic actions Training sessions by a professional actor using drama exercises: ‘Cross and Circle’, ‘Colombian Hand Hypnosis’ and ‘Complete the Image’ Training session on how to develop a civic action Brain storm session on how the methodology could be implemented in the activities of Top van Noord Association Time for reflexion and evaluation

Reflections on the “ACT” methodology from the trainers point of view In the trainer’s view the Image Theatre had the most impact on the participants in the training. The group consisted of people who knew each other and could use their bodies freely to express their emotions and attitudes. The culmination came with the game ‘Complete te image’! 14-15.05.2012, Rotterdam

Reflections on the “ACT” methodology from the participants point of view The participants in the training were very enthusiastic about the methodology. They had great time playing the drama exercises and actively participated in the discussions on civic actions. They came up with several ideas for civic actions: How to organise civic actions for people talking different languages How to make people clean their street using Image Theatre like in the game ‘Colombian Hand Hypnosis’ How to make neighbours who never take part in the activities of the Association participate in events using drama exercises 14-15.05.2012, Rotterdam

Applicability of new skills and competences gained during the trainings The participants have gained new skills and competences in: Implementing the pointers for civic actions Implementing drama exercises while organizing of ‘brain storm’ sessions to think of new activities with the members of the Association Organizing civic actions using drama while attracting their neighbors to take part in community activities 14-15.05.2012, Rotterdam
