VOLUME Lesson Objective By the end of the lesson I should be able to Find the volume of a rectangular prism
2
Volume Units of volume mm 3 cm 3 m 3 km 3 The volume is the space within the inside of a 3D shape.
3
Rectangular Prism We can find the volume of a rectangular prism by multiplying the area of the cross-section (front rectangle) by the length. Volume of a cuboid = length × width × height = lwh height, h length, l width, w The area of the rectangle = length × width So, = ldh we use depth or breadth instead of width
4
Volume of a rectangular prism= length x height x width 5cm 20cm 4cm 5 x 20 x 4 = 400cm ³ 3cm 10cm 2cm 3 x 10 2 = 60cm³
