Introduction to Engineering Design (IED) is designed for students to dig deep into the engineering design process, applying math, science, and engineering standards to hands-on projects. Eligibility 1. Earned a minimum of BASIC on both science and math sections on the most recent standardized test (i.e LEAP, EOC) 2. Must complete and return this application by the deadline, including signatures 3. Must complete the student section of the teacher input forms and give a copy to your current a. Science teacher b. Math teacher c. Any other teacher excluding PE 4. Return to Mrs. Hoffman, Room 426, NO LATER THAN April 14 th 5. Signed by the student and guardian below ** This class will require a strong work ethic and commitment to mastery of the rigors of the coursework. Project Lead The Way Elective

How will you schedule FHS Honors Courses? 1 If you are currently enrolled in an honors course in a core subject you will be tentatively scheduled into a 9th grade honors course. 2 In late May/early June a review of the following student data will determine final placement into a 9 th grade honors course. Data points include: LEAP scores, Explore scores, and 8 th grade course grades. 3 In mid to late June, after a careful review of student data, letters will be mailed home that will inform student of final placement into honors courses. If a student does not receive placement, an appeals process will be available prior to the opening of the school year.

FHS Freshman Academy The goal of Freshman Academy is to successfully transition 9 th grade students into self-sufficient high school students through a partnership with students, educators, administrators, and parent. http://fontainebleauhigh.stpsb.org http://fontainebleauhigh.stpsb.org Topics include survivor skills, attendance policy and procedures, freshman faculty, JPAMS home link as well online tutorials.
