Vii Hamlet tells of letters he discovered on Ros. And Guild. Asking that his head be chopped off Hamlet sent his own letter (this is very bad for Ros. And Guild.) Osrick tells of wager Hamlet/Laertes fencing duel All major characters die: 1-4 How? The rest is silence 5. What must Horatio now do? 6. What will happen to Denmark?

7. Discuss your opinion of the play’s conclusion. (1 paragraph) Test preview – You will be asked to re-write in contemporary English a soliloquy from the play. Look for 1 or 2 that you could do this for. Each pair of students should write Act, Scene, Lines on board. Must be major soliloquys. There will also be some general questions about the play and some of the recurring images/themes in the play – rot, poison, death. Study homework questions, character motivations, comparable characters, “tragic justice” Open book
