1. My Trip Across America Mr. Freeman Algebra 1 Marking Period 3 Project

2. Home: Coplay, PA  I’m leaving home today!  I’m going to be traveling in my new car, a 2012 Subaru Impreza! It gets an estimated 36 mpg on the highway and holds 14 gallons of gasoline!

3. Stop 1: Pittsburgh  My first stop is going to be in Pittsburgh to see the Pittsburgh Zoo.  The distance from Allentown to Pittsburgh is 281 miles and it will take me 5 hours and 23 minutes to get there.  I am going to stay at Hyatt Place right across from Heinz Field. This will cost be $169.

4. When I’m in Pittsburgh….  When I’m in Pittsburgh I will visit Heinz Field and will ride the trolley car.  Did you know?  On November 25, 2012, Pittsburgh will be 254 years old. It was established in 1758. 2012 – 1758 = 254 years old!

5. Stop 2: St. Louis, Missouri  My second stop is going to be in St. Louis to see the St. Louis Arch  The distance from Pittsburgh to St. Louis is 602 miles and it will take me 10 hours and 30 minutes to get there.  I am going to stay at the Crown Plaza Hotel in the downtown area, this will cost be $125.

6. When I’m in St. Louis….  When I’m in St. Louis I’m going to visit Six Flags Theme Park and I will go to Hurricane Harbor Water Park.  Did you know?  The tallest man in documented medical history was Robert Pershing Wadlow from St. Louis. He was 8 feet, 11.1 inches tall. This is equivalent to 107.1 inches total, that is almost 4 feet taller than me!

7. Stop 3: Home  I’m heading home now from my trip across the Unites States.  The distance from St. Louis to Coplay, PA is is 868 miles and it will take me 15 hours and 24 minutes to get there.  I am going to stay at the Quality Inn in Akron, Ohio because it only costs $60!
