2. Fishing-Types Of Fish
The main fish are halibut*, salmon*, herring, ling cod, smelt, sturgeon, and eulachon.The fish were preserved by smoking and drying them. The fathers caught them, the mothers prepared them, and the children helped prepare them.

3. WEIRS A fence built across a stream Salmon trapped against the fence
Fishermen spear and net the fish

4. Nets Twine made from cedar bark, nettle, and plants.
Reef nets went between two canoes.
Dip nets had a long handle attached to them.
Bag shaped nets went across the stream attached to a post.

5. Traps Made out of logs or rocks placed on the beach.
They used the tides to catch the fish.

6. Hooks Lures Rakes+Harpoons
Hooks were used to catch halibut.
Spears and lures caught lingcod.
Rakes were used for herring.
Harpoons caught sturgeon.
Spears were used to catch salmon.
