3. 3 PHI THETA KAPPA Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society for two-year colleges. Incorporated in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa is now the largest honor society in American higher education. –It has more than 2 million members 1,200 chapters NOT a fraternity/sorority

4. 4 BETA IOTA RHO Beta Iota Rho is the local chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Luzerne County Community College. Our chapter, chartered on December 12, 2000, is a member of the Middle States Region. –Currently, we have 287 members. Happy 10 th Anniversary!

5. MEMBERSHIP

6. 6 REQUIREMENTS A student must: –be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours at LCCC during Fall or Spring Semesters. –have a GPA of 3.5 or better. –have completed 12 hours or more of transfer level courses. Membership is Invitation Only

7. 7 BENEFITS As members of Phi Theta Kappa, students receive: –Eligibility for scholarships including many excellent transfer scholarships to universities @ $37 million each year –The right to wear honor regalia at graduation: the gold and blue cords the Golden Stole and tassel
