Chromebooks Ready, set, here we go... Some handy guidelines

Before all else... Clean, clean. Clean. Make sure your desk is clean (your teacher may want to help you clean the desktop) Make sure your hands are washed and dried. You know how they get after handball! Ew!

Clear your desktop! Put away any hazardous items that could land on top of your Chromebook, especially water bottles!

I have my chromebook... Now what?? Rules, of course! Rules, of course!

Just a few more things! Don’t ever put anything on top of your Chromebook! No books, pencils, headphones or papers! Be careful when moving around the Chromebooks. We don’t want to bump them off of a table. Don’t go on to any site or app that your teacher does not instruct you to go to! Don’t touch the screen with anything! Leave your Chromebooks flat on the table while in use. Close the cover GENTLY from the middle. They close quickly if not careful.

Okay.. So, Teachers- some things I ’ ve learned-

Recommendations If possible, it may be easiest to introduce the Chromebooks to your students for the first time in a small group setting. Log ins- Give your kiddos their usernames and passwords- Remember to use @valverde.edu after their usernames Give the CB a minute to connect to the network. The log in screen will appear

The lOg in screen The first time the kiddos log in, you will have to check the use agreement and type in the wavy, nonsense words that verify that you are human. Hint- Do this quickly! The good news- you will only have to do this once. The kids will pick their picture and then you are good to go!

Logged in.. Now what? Chrome will pop up with two tabs open- AR and RAZ-Kids. If you kids close them, they will not reopen in that session but you can click the apps button

Typing an R into the search button, will list websites you have previously visited and Renaissance Place should be listed.

Clicking these will show you more available apps

This is where your kids can access their Google Drive

Have fun! There are so many different ways to utilize these in the classroom – Sharing docs and doing collaborative editing – Sharing presentations on the Chromebook instead of on LCD – Prezi making, typing practice and much, much more! – Enjoy!
