3. Degree Degree of a term: Sum of all exponents in that term Ex: Degree of term: 2+1 or 3 Degree of the polynomial: whichever term has highest degree Ex: Degree: 4 3 5 The highest is 5 so the polynomial’s degree is 5 and x 5 is leading term
