2.  I picked the Eiffel Tower because I always wanted to go see it and I wanted to learn more about it.

3.  The Eiffel Tower is located in Paris, France.

4.  It started getting worked on in 1887 and was finished in 1889.  The Eiffel Tower opened on March 31, 1889.  It took 2 years, 2 months, and 5 days to build the tower completely

5.  There are 9 elevators in the Eiffel Tower.  The tower is 81 stories tall.  The lights on the tower light up every hour for 5 minutes everyday.  The Eiffel Tower is painted every 7 years in 3 different shades of brown.  Almost 50 tons of paint are used when they paint the Eiffel Tower every 7 years.  The city of Paris owns the Eiffel Tower.

6.  Alexandre Gustave Eiffel was the creator of the Eiffel tower. He was only 91 years old when he died.  He was born in 1832 and he died in 1923.  He had 3 daughters and 2 sons.

9.  A lot of people think the Eiffel Tower is made of steel but the Eiffel Tower is actually made of pure iron.  In 1887, 300 workers started putting together over 18,000 pieces of pure iron.  They needed a total of 7,000 tons of iron.
