About Port-au-Prince! Port-au-Prince is the capital of Haiti. About 3 million people live there. It is on the coast and has a major natural harbour used to export coffee and sugar In 2012 it was devastated by a major earthquake

About Paris! Paris is the capital city of France Paris is a major European city and a global centre for art, fashion, cooking and culture. There are many famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower Paris sits on the river Seine and has a population of 2.24 million

Differences and Similarities

Differences ●Paris has less people living in it ●Port-au-Prince is much poorer than Paris (it doesn’t even have a sewage system… smelly!) ●Paris does not suffer from earthquakes ●Port-au-Prince is on the coast, Paris is on a river ●Paris is hundreds of years older, Port-au-Prince was only made the capital in 1778 ●Port-au-Prince is surrounded by hills ●Port-au-Prince climate is much hotter than Paris as it is near the Caribbean

Similarities (this was difficult!) ●They both speak French as Haiti was once run by the French ●Both cities have lots of tourists visit them ●They are both Capital cities with lots of history ●They both have the Catholic Church as their main religion
