2. John 15:9-10 The Abiding Life of Love! Part 3

3. Vs 10, “If you keep My commandments”, is a 3 rd class if; maybe you will and maybe you will not keep His mandates.

4. “Keep” – TEREO, Aorist, Active, Subjunctive. The believer has volitional responsibility to positively choose to guard and observe the Word of God in their lives.

5. Persist in obedience to the Word of God = remaining in Jesus’ love exactly the same way in which He remained in His Father’s love = obedience to the Father’s Will and Plan.

6. That total obedience is what Jesus testified to as noted in verse 10, and is the type of obedience we too must have in order to abide in His Love.

7. John 8:29, “And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.”

8. John 14:31, “But so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me.”

9. Abiding in the Love of Christ is a continuing communion with Him. It is maximizing your fellowship with Christ on a daily basis.

10. “You will abide in My love,” Abide - MENO in the Future Tense = If you are persistent in obedience to the Word of God YOU WILL in the future abide in the sphere of Jesus’ love.

11. “Just as I have persistently observed the commandments of My Father and therefore abide in the sphere of His love.” Jesus Christ lived the Prototypical Spiritual Life.

12. John 15:10, “If, maybe you will and maybe you will not, persist in obedience to My commandments, then you will abide in the sphere of My love; even as I have persistently observed the command- ments of My Father and therefore abide in the sphere of His love.”

13. Jesus Christ as the Prototypical Spiritual Life!

14. The humanity of Christ, during His First Advent, utilized the prototype spiritual life that relied on Divine power in the fulfillment of the Father's Plan.

15. Jesus executed God's Plan in the filling of the Spirit and with the Word resident within His soul inside God’s Power System (GPS), the prototype spiritual life.

16. Our Lord demonstrated for us how the power of God can be utilized by a member of the human race to overcome and be victorious.

17. When our Lord operated inside God’s Power System, He was abiding in the love of God the Father.

18. The love of the Father means in Grace He provided everything necessary for Jesus Christ to overcome sin and be victorious, all the way through the Cross.

19. That same love and power is now available to every Church Age believer for the fulfillment of God's Plan for the Church Age. Eph 1:19-22; 2 Cor 3:17-18
