1 Atmosphere Election 2013 The layers of the atmosphere are engaged in a heated debate over which layer should be “president” of the atmosphere. You and your campaign party will devise an election campaign – written and visual – for each layer explaining why it should win the distinguished office of Atmosphere President.

2 Write your name on your card Rank order your Choices from 1 (First Choice) to 3 (Last Choice) 1. Troposphere 2. Stratosphere 3. Mesosphere 4. Thermosphere

3 Speech Writer Responsibilities: 1.Write a persuasive speech explaining why your layer should be elected president of the atmosphere. 1.Include 3 strong pieces of evidence to persuade the audience and explain why this fact makes your layer the perfect candidate for president.

4 Politician Responsibilities: 1.Deliver the speech to the class with confidence, making eye contact, projecting your voice, and speaking clearly (Make sure you practice!!!) 2. Develop the character of your layer

5 Visual Artist Responsibilities: 1.Develop a slogan for your campaign that is based on the characteristics of the atmosphere and is catchy. 1.Create a neat, eye catching poster to be used as your campaign ad.

6 Media Responsibilities: 1.Develop an educreations video to be used as the background slideshow during the speech. 2.It should include at least 5 images that are related to your layer and last the duration of the speech. 3.Slideshow should leave a visual imprint in the audience’s mind

7 Researcher/Campaign Manager Responsibilities: 1.Find relevant facts to help the speech writer 1.Find images to help the media person 1.Keep group on task 1.Give proper credit to sources
