Playing Style He is Right handed and uses a one handed back hand Federer's versatility has been summarized by Jimmy Connors: "In an era of specialists, you're either a clay court specialist, a grass court specialist, or a hard court specialist...or you're Roger Federer.“ John McEnroe has referred to Federer's forehand as "the greatest shot in our sport.” He sometimes uses a between-the-legs shot, which is colloquially referred to as a "tweener" or "hotdog". His first serve is typically around 125 mph however, he is capable of serving at 137 mph.

Records and Awards Most consecutive weeks at number one of the world rankings (237 straight weeks from 2.2.2004- 18.8.2008). Most Grand Slam tournaments won (17). He is the only man to reach at least the semifinals of 23 consecutive Grand Slam tournaments, from the 2004 Wimbledon Championships through the 2010 Australian Open. Olympics: -Gold medal in the 2008 doubles and a silver in the 2012 singles

Roger Federer, The Philanthropist In 2003 he and his mother Lynette established the Roger Federer Foundation to help disadvantaged people and to promote sports In 2005, he auctioned his racquet from his US Open championship to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina. He was named a 2010 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in recognition of his leadership, accomplishments, and contributions to society.
